Molly Sewell

Molly Sewell is an enigma.  Her calm and quiet demeanor, so effective with the equine and human clients she serves, belies a fiercely competitive nature sitting just under the surface.  Molly’s unflappable determination to succeed has made her both a top professional rider in her own right, as well as an invaluable member of Bill Schaub’s Over the Hill Farm in Sanford, Florida where she deals with all aspects of the barn--from the horses to the staff, to the interactions with a full roster of clients.

A talented and successful junior rider, Molly capped her amateur career in 2001 by winning the prestigious Ariat Adult Medal Finals at the Capital Challenge Horse Show.  Shortly thereafter, as with many young amateur riders, Molly entered college to focus on completing her degree at the University of Central Florida.   Throughout her college years, though, Molly’s riding continued to mature as she worked and rode at Over the Hill Farm, culminating with her college graduation in 2006 when her enhanced riding and business skills converged and she turned her full attention to her equine profession.

Molly’s skill and dedication to her craft were acknowledged early in her professional career when she was recognized in 2008 as Reserve Champion in the WCHR Emerging Professional Challenge at the Capital Challenge Horse Show.  Just two years later, Molly triumphed in the WCHR Emerging Professional Challenge as the 2010 Champion, beating a field of the best young professionals in the country.

Since those early successes, Molly has campaigned many horses from Over the Hill Farm, as well as catch rides from external clients, to top ribbon results at Devon, Capital Challenge, Pennsylvania National, WIHS and The National Horse Show.  She is a well-respected and formidable competitor each year at The Winter Equestrian Festival and has numerous Champions and Reserves to her credit in divisions across the board, including the Pre-Green Hunters, First Year Greens, Green Conformation, Performance Hunters 3'3” and Performance Hunters 3'6, and she has qualified for and competed in the WCHR Palm Beach Hunter Spectacular.

With more rides and more opportunities coming her way, Molly continues to make her mark in the elite world of professional riders.  In 2015, she rode an Over the Hill Farm client’s young horse to 3rd place from a starting field of 169 qualifiers in the highly competitive USHJA Pre Green Incentive Finals, and immediately after those remarkable results, Molly topped the field to win the 2015 Hallway Feeds Leading Professional Rider Award for the National Hunter Derby Series at the Kentucky Horse Shows.

Molly’s riding successes are well documented, but she is equally admired by those who know her for being an exemplary role model both inside and outside the ring.  Well-liked and respected by her peers and fellow competitors, she is known both for her talent and her sportsmanship.  And as a mentor, she is quick to provide support and encouragement to the riders in the barn who all strive to emulate her.

Now firmly in the spotlight as a sought after professional, Molly Sewell has blended her riding talent, her horsemanship, her competitive drive and her sportsmanship into a uniquely winning formula.
