Jane Karol
Jane Karol is a United States Dressage Federation bronze, silver and gold medalist.

She has trained eight horses to Grand Prix and worked with many of the top clinicians in the world. She currently works with Lendon Gray, Rien van der Schaft and Scott Hassler. In addition, she spent over twenty years learning from Gerrit-Claes Bierenbroodspot of the Netherlands.

Sunshine Tour came to Bear Spot from the Oldenburg auction in Vechta, Germany as a four year old. Sunshine is by Sir Donnerhall x Alabaster. As a six-year-old she was Reserve Champion (2013) at the Markel Young Horse National championships at Lamplight, and was the Oldenburg six-year-old National Champion. In 2016 they earned the Developing Grand Prix Champion title at the Markel/USEF Dressage Championships.

Jane is also training her newest partner, Romantic Love (Rolo) who is a five-year-old Oldenburg mare (Sir Donnerhall I - Rohdiamant). They plan to pursue the Markel/USEF six-year-old championship in 2018.
Jane opened Bear Spot Farm in Concord, MA, in 1994. Home to over 24 horses, the farm provides state-of-the-art care and structured dressage training programs for horse and rider. Jane is a doctoral level psychotherapist, and works with children and adults in Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy. She established The Bear Spot Foundation for the Benefit of Equine Assisted Psychotherapy in 2004. The Foundation’s mission is to bring the gifts of the horse into a directed psychotherapeutic program for children, adolescents and adults.
